I follow with interest regarding your writing about Nuri pilots. For your info my late brother, arwah Major Mohd. Rifin Abd. Hamid, was a pilot during your time. I was told he too was invovled during Gubir incident. I was wandering if you know him, if so how was he like at that time? Thanks.
Terima kasih kerana melayari blog saya. Mengenai arwah Mej Ripin, memang saya mengenalinya. Beliau adalah 'junior' saya ketika mengikuti kursus penerbangan di SEA Helicopter. Beliau tamat kursus tersebut pada 1/11/73. Kami pernah berkhidmat di No 3 Skn, TUDM Butterworth. Beliau kerap mengiringi Nuri saya dengan Alouette gunship. Banyak peristiwa yang tidak boleh dilupai.
Saya berada di ITU Kinrara semasa Nuri membawa jenazahnya terbang ke Tanjung Malim (?) untuk disemadikan.
Btw, apa namanya sebenar? Saya hanya mengenalinya sebagai RIPIN. Terima kasih.
I have following your blog for the past 4 years or so. but the pinnacle of it all is the Documentary On the Old Iron Birds. Its a shame that it could not be aired on RTM and TV3, for surely it would have a much more impact on the sacrifices and hardship that you and your fellows pilots went through during the so called Second Insurgency. Please keep on blogging Sir, for as along as the Taiping Hills Stand.
salam tuan. i was told many heroes were interviewed but only a few were aired. Priceless treasure like this, y can't they make a series like 'Jejak General'. Since it only focus on Nuris, y 'helicopter heroes'. sian alouette. :D Just a thought.
