Dah Sah

I really don't see the logic of restricting only the SP& PGB holders to participate in this 'Jejak Pahlawan' program for PLKN. By doing so they have effectively  marginalized and silenced the stories of valour by PTU holders. Who could better relate these stories than the brave pilots and air men who saw action first hand. On many occasions the action by ground troops was successful because the chopper pilots had landed the troops at the right time and at the right place.

There were so many occasions where seriously injured  soldiers in the jungle were saved because these pilots made the decision to  retrieve them under dangerous conditions such as bad weather and enemy action. In the process many lost their lives. It is a shame that students at PLKN will deprived from hearing stories of action by PTU holders.Let's not forget that behind the scenes unknown to many, these brave and skillful airmen had saved the lives of its passengers including VIPs by nursing these expensive flying machines with engine trouble to land safely.

I am an old infantry man I have experienced much of this unfold before my eyes. I hope those who made the decision to only invite the SP&PGB holders will read this cherita from this orang lama.

By the way the episode of Bt. Jenalik  at the 'Dusun Durian' . Own troops killed 2. All third rate enemy(Al-Mauna)  surrendered except 1 when attack launched using APCs and GGK commandos. Awards 2 SPs  & 4 PGBs .

Fikir Fikir kan lah !

Tuan,
Fully agreed with Arunzab comments.Army Ops should check all the files of Incidents/Contacts rep and I am sure they will find those involved which deserved the awards were not listed. As an inf man also and as staff officer in an operational Bde,I have high regards to the Air Force pilots esp Aloutte gunship and the Nuris.Names like Mej(U)Subramanian,Mej(U) Adnan,Capt(U) Suhaimi and Capt(U)Hashim -Gunship pilot still fresh in my mind.It is appropriate people like them to be invited as they have hell lots of experience to be told to these youngsters. To tell the truth not all PGB receipient deserved to be awarded, such eg.A Coy Comd got PGB by just calling Arty Fire which killed 2 CTs,what about FOO and Pl comd invovlved,I think Arunzab is aware of this.Salam

Dear Askartua ,
I have spoken to PakChat a few times and it looks like he is fed up of what is going on in the country . Because of that he has given up bloging for now. Pak Chad is a good man and I hope he will be back, most probably after the elections. Depending on who wins the elections, if you know what I mean!!
