A brief history...The Carcosa mansion was built in 1896-1897 as the official residence of Sir Frank Athelstane Swettenham, the first British High Commissioner in Malaya of the then Resident-General of the Federated Malay States. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
As fas as I'm concerned, this mansion is a historical landmark because it was here, Istana Tetamu then, where I received my 'parchment' from Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mua'dzam Shah, Sultan Of Kedah, the acting King, on 12 April 1969.
Receiving the parchment from Sultan Of Kedah
Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the Artillery Corp (Pasukan Meriam)...
Signed by the 4th SPB Yang Dipertuan Agong, Almarhum Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah (of Terengganu) and arwah Tun Abdul Razak, Defence Minister

Salam Tuan!
Pernah p buat tinjauan untuk adakan Mess Night...juga bawa kawan2 dari UK melawat tempat bersejarah ni..saya maklumkan pada mereka Queen Elizabeth 2 pernah menginap disini semasa pembukaan SUKOM tahun 1998 dulu...mereka amat kagum!
Dear Kamal,
I suggest you have a 'scrap book' like Lt Col Basri. He brought along his 'album' when he came over to see me and the members of the forum.
Saudara Basri,
Salam Tuan
Good suggestion, Thanks.
Saudara Basri & Kamal,
Saya pun nak buat 'scrap book' untuk kenangan kisah dulu-dulu.
