My daily routine, come rain or shine, feeding these cute but neglected cats at my club, DGCC. Altogether there are 7 cats outside the caddies' room.

My golfer-kaki, whose car is of the same model as mine, marvels at their Allah-given instincts. Whenever he arrives at the club for golf, these animals are just not bothered. But they would run towards my car on hearing the car's engine and follow me: a 'Pied Piper' of sorts to these poor creatures. I've to be very careful when parking for fear of hitting them. It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to feed them and seeing them 'meowing' away after their stomachs are full.
It pains me to see whenever people ill-treat animals - be it cat, dog, tiger, etc, etc. Why must we be cruel to them? After all, they, too, have the right to live in this world.
Back home, my wife is the caretaker of about 15 stray cats. Every day, without fail, first thing early in the morning and late afternoon, she would be feeding them. They stay outside the compound of our house: only 4 live within the compound. She spends quite a substantial amount of her pension on food and medical care, including family planning pills for these cute animals.Yesterday we had to take a he-cat, 'Kaka', to the vet. For the last 2-3 days, my wife observed that he was not the usual mischievous Kaka. The vet told her that Kaka might have food poisoning. And, as expected, he was given a jab. For those who're not familiar, vet's medical bills are exorbitant.
Syukur alhamdullah to Almighty Allah, as at today, it doesn't cause a major dent in our pockets. Maybe the cats are praying for us?...Wallahualam.
To those who have soft spot for animals, believe me, your money spends on them is worth it. I've full faith that your benevolence would be rewarded by Allah. The 'rezeki' is not necessarily comes in the form RM, maybe among others, being able to type this jotting is also a rezeki. What more, when you're given the best of health, insya-Allah.

Read your entries and sure i would find the stories of these kitties. Yes...a good deed deserve another. Its true that the cats must have prayed the best for you and family. I do believe and have faith in this. Remembered once read from the hadith ; Tarmizi, "Those who are kind and considerate to Allah's creatures, Allah bestows His kindness and affection on them. Show kindness to the creatures on the earth so that Allah may be kind to you."
The stories of MuÊ¿izza, the Prophet Muhammad’s favourite cat recounts how the call to prayer was given, and as Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him) went to put on one of his robes, he found his cat sleeping on one of the sleeves. Rather than disturbing the cat, he cut off the sleeve and let him sleep. When he returned, Muizza awoke and bowed down to Prophet Muhammad and in return he stroked him three times. It is also believed that when Prophet Muhammad gave sermons within his household he would often hold Muizza in his lap.
Well, in Islam, mistreating an animal is seen as among the most severe of all crimes. I believe, there is a reward for acts of charity to every beast alive. So, be contented Tn Mejar Nor Ibrahim – You and your family deserve one!
p/s Istanbul is famed for its cats – they are everywhere ...’Cats mosque’ home of the cats too, do exists there. Check it out! ;-)
