Di Memorial TAR

13 Mac 2012...
Wartawan silap lapor. Bukannya 'Ops Bamboo'

Sudara Nor,
The backbone of all operations especially those conducted deep in the jungles were the Nuri Helicopters and the magnificent men who flew them. I am a vetren of many such ops like those at Fort Belum Kelentan/ Perak border,Ops Indra in Bentong Phg, Naga Tada area Rascom, to name a few.The success of the grounds could not have been achieved without the sheer skills of the chopper pilots who often landed or hovered on near impossible to land or approach, LPs to medivac, reinforce troops, and resupply.

Ther younger generation of RMAF Chopper Pilots will have a lot to learn from old timers like you. Well done we are all very proud of you for sharing your experience.

 Saudara Zulfatha,
Ops INDERA were a series of operations conducted under 4 BIM for almost a a decade. The book you mentioned is written in 2005 by  Zakaria Salleh, a Malaysian novelist and former army major. He has interviewed various personalties about the jungles operations under Ops INDERA and compiled their exploits into a book. As far as I know he personally was not involved in ops INDERA.

Thank you for your interest in military affairs.
Salam
