"Old Faithful" vs "Young & New"

Throughout my flying days, I was a 100% 'old but faithful' Nuri pilot. I love those birds...they never failed me in performing those given missions in whatever conditions...be it in hostile environments or adverse weather conditions with the barest of navigational equipment. More often than not, we had to rely on the Almighty Allah's precious gift - "Mark 2 Eyeballs".  A friend of mine is very fortunate indeed to have the opportunity to fly new assets in the RMAF inventory - Blackhawk and S61N1 - both VVIP helicopters of No 10 Squadron. These 2 types  of helicopter are fully IFR (Instruments Flight Rules) rated with a 'glass cockpit'. How I wish I had the opportunity to fly that sleek looking Jaguar E-Type Blackhawk!!

Now I'm told that these faithful 'iron birds' who were once the 'workhorses of the RMAF' are fitted with VOR, ILS, DME and Doppler. I pray to Almighty Allah that the nation will no longer be shocked  by any news of Nuri getting involved in accidents with  loss of lives due to bad weather...let it be a thing of the past! However, this is achievable only if the RMAF is ready to amend Nuri's SOP pertaining to 'minimum weather conditions...In sight of land/water'. Otherwise all the taxpayers hard-earned monies spent to upgrade the Nuri would be gone to the drains. And pilots keep faithfully flying IFR...I Follow Road/River! 


RMAF...If action to amend the SOP is already in place...well and good. If not, don't you think this is something that needs to be seriously looked into? Hamba Allah...Thank you.

Tabley ke tuan , buat appnmt ngan Co squadron sembang sembang minum teh gebang cita lama pastu slow talk 'hang tabley bawak aku naik sekali ka? ' Bila dah naik suruh handover control kat tuan sekali sekala ..:D sounds ez ja cubalah mana tauuuu!
